Financial Accountant

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

An exciting opportunity is available at Brolink for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations
  • Maintain supplier analyses, resolve queries
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly payments
  • Ensure Creditors are processed, reconciled, and paid timeously
  • Allocation of all payments to the correct suppliers in the accounting records
  • Respond to all enquiries from suppliers and escalate to relevant department as required
  • Apply basic accounting knowledge and techniques to all areas of work
  • Regular maintenance of the supplier Masterfile
  • Capturing of all payments in the accounting records using Sage/Pastel Partner
  • Creating Purchase orders
  • Loading and vetting of all vendor applications received
  • Quarterly B-BBEE verification for group requirements
  • Assistance with Tax submissions
  • Analysis of expenses for budget purposes
  • Assist in adhoc duties when required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The following academic qualifications and related experience are requirements for the position:

Qualifications

  • Matric (with Accounting HG)
  • Financial Accounting/Bookkeeping related qualification
  • Pastel Training
  • Degree in Accounting, Financial Management (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping environment or a similar position.
  • Must have basic Pastel experience

Previous experience as an Accounts Clerk in the Insurance Industry.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Minimum Requirements:

  • MS Office Excel (Advanced) – must be able to work with Pivot Tables, Formula’s, and Data Extractions)
  • Microsoft Office – Outlook
  • Pastel (Basic)
